Where the Tiberis born.
The Tiber rises on the slopes of Monte Fumaiolo. For centuries the source was Tuscan, until in the 1920s Mussolini redrew the provincial border to bring it within his native Forlì, shifting its official birthplace into Emilia-Romagna. In 1934 a column was raised there, inscribed: "Here rises the river sacred to the destiny of Rome".
